“We went tonight after seeing a Facebook ad this morning. Man, I am difficult to please, a bit of a food snob. This place blew my socks off! We had four adults and two kids and every single one of us were SHOCKED at how good the food was. You can 1000% tell that the pasta is homemade and fresh. It was perfectly cooked. Everything was seasoned amazingly and the complimentary fresh baked bread was a really nice touch. Service was good, atmosphere and lighting was fine. We all made plans to come back before we had even left.
Kid-friendliness: The kid menu is sparce but unless you have a super picky eater, there’s definitely something for every kid.”

“Out-of-towner happy to have landed at Zest for a late, Sunday afternoon lunch on a day trip to tour Bartow's interesting Wonder House, with quick, unplanned visits to the L.B. Brown House Museum and the Bartow History Center. Located on a side street a couple of blocks from the old town square Zest has a quiet, unassuming appearance with off-street parking and an outside, covered dining patio. Inside seating includes booths, tables and the bar in a large, high-ceilinged, sort of dimly lit dining area with a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Our server Regan, (I think was her name) was efficient, and attentive and just right friendly. Our food - we both had fish and chips with cole slaw - was excellent - the slaw was good - chunky cut with vinegar-based dressing rather than mayo-based, medium cut fries and the fish were very good - tender and crisp (the fish lightly battered). Definitely would be a repeat customer if I was a local. Planning to return to Bartow for a scheduled tour of the L.B. Brown House and to explore more of the History Center and it will be hard to decide whether to try a different restaurant or to return here where we really enjoyed the service, the meal and the space.”

“This location is good, but just want to say, one of your employees just tried to start a fight with me at the gas pump while in Firehouse uniform. I pumped gas, and then had to go inside and wait in line for my receipt, when i get back to my car, she is mad and questioning me on why my car was at the pump. Kicking up a fuss and threatening over nothing. Probably not the best public image, since she was in uniform and either going to or leaving work. She sucks, but your location is great!”

While traveling back to Tampa we decided to stop by Perkins for some much-needed food and it did not disappoint. Our server did a phenomenal job greeting us and making us feel welcomed. I will admit I ask so many questions when ordering food to ensure there is no miscommunication on my request. Amber’s customer service, attention to detail and authenticity ensured my order was correct and thoroughly explained what Perkins had to offer. Tyvan’s kitchen skills appeared to be next level. The food was fresh, hot, presented well, and delicious. I told my server to thank Tyvan for doing such a wonderful job. “We go to this place every Tuesday when they play bingo in Spanish and English. The Owner is working the front of the house and it's pretty smoothly run. The food is always the same delicious flavors common to us all. Bartow is getting some super places to eat and enjoy what this pretty town offers. Back to Hacienda. The tamals are the best I have ever had in my life. The big nachos are wonderful to eat and the best thing is they want you to be happy when you leave and when you come back. Don't waste your time at chain store food. Go to this Mom and Pop help support this wonderful place enjoy the food and the atmosphere of small town flair. They have a dining room outside under some big trees shading the patio. They have wonderful and fun daily special during the week. I hope to see you there every Tuesday.
